Millat Times, founded by Darul Uloom Deoband alumni, published fake news that RSS Sarsanghchalak has expressed concern over the poor performance of the BJP in the first two phases of voting in Uttar Pradesh.

Islamist propaganda website Millat News, founded by Darul Uloom Deoband alumni Shams Tabrez Qasmi, published fake news in the name of Rashtriya Swayasevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday (February 16).

Quoting sources in the RSS, Millat Times published that Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat has expressed serious concern over the poor performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the first two phases of voting in the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.

It further added that the Sarsanghchalak also spoke about the IB report, which said the performance of the BJP has been very poor in the first two phases. It is also fake news as no such meeting happened.

The voting for the 403 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh is underway. The first phase polling happened on February 10 and the second phase on February 14. The first two phases covered 113 seats, and the voting for the third phase is on Sunday (February 20). The voting in the state is spread over seven phases, concluding on March 7. The counting of votes will begin on March 10.

The vested interests are spreading different kinds of fake news about the BJP and the RSS. Earlier, the propaganda machinery worked overnight to spread rumours about the rift between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Yogi Adityanath had been a Lok Sabha member from Gorakhpur five consecutive times, and later became the Chief Minister of the state after the party secured a massive victory in 2017 polls. The chief minister is contesting from Gorakhpur Sadar, which will go for voting in the sixth phase on March 3.

Amid the heavy campaigning in the state, CM Yogi Adityanath said the development initiatives by his government are being appreciated by the people, and they are also expressing huge satisfaction over the law & order situation in the state.

In the last five years, CM Yogi Adityanath has dealt with criminals with a heavy hand. Many criminals in the state surrendered in court and have refused to contest the polls. The government has worked to ensure that criminals who have encroached on the land in previous governments are facing the music of law.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have praised CM Yogi in many public rallies for restoring the law & order in the state.
