Kerala Ranjith Srinivasan murder case – Death sentence for all the 15 PFI terrorists

The Mavelikara Additional Sessions Court awarded death sentences to 15 accused Popular Front of India (PFI) terrorists accused in the Ranjith Srinivasan Murder Case. Mavelikara Additional Sessions Court Judge VG Sridevi pronounced the verdict.

Accused in the case include Nawaz, Anoop, Safaruddin, Munshad, Muhammad Aslam, Salam Ponnad, Shamir, Naseer, Zakir Hussain, Jaseeb Raja, Shaji Poovathinkal, Shernaz Ashraf, Nizam, Ajmal, and Abdul Kalam. The court previously found all 15 PFI terrorists guilty in the case, with eight directly involved in the murder, and trespassing into Ranjith’s house. Three accused were found to have conspired to commit the murder. The court declared that all accused are eligible for the death penalty.

Given the gravity of the case, tight security measures have been implemented in the district, with police deployed around the court. The accused were brought to the court under heavy security. The prosecution emphasized the rarity of the case, urging the court to impose the maximum punishment.

The murder occurred on December 19, 2021, in Alappuzha, where Ranjith Srinivasan was brutally killed by Popular Front of India (PFI) terrorists who broke into his house. The incident unfolded in front of his family members.
